Author blasts 'purveyors of moral equivalence' for equating Christianity, Islam

This is an article from a conservative news group I subscribe to.

Robert Spencer's new book is called Religion of Peace? Why Christianity Is and Islam Isn't. The director of Jihad Watch says since that fateful day six years ago, the left has become increasingly vocal in its disgust for American Judeo-Christian values, and pushes the idea that all religions -- particularly Islam and Christianity -- are the same when it comes to violence and extremism.
According to Spencer, the website TheReligionOfPeace.com documents more than 9,000 "Islamic terror attacks" and murders he says were perpetrated since September 11, 2001, in the name of Islam and justified by Islamic texts. He explains that the "left" compares that enormous figure to a few isolated incidents that were not necessarily perpetrated by Christians.
"People like Rosie O'Donnell -- mainstream media figures and purveyors of moral equivalence -- are essentially saying that over 9,000 terror attacks are equivalent to [Oklahoma City bomber] Timothy McVeigh, who wasn't actually a Christian at all, and to a few abortion clinic bombers, of which there have been less than a dozen," he asserts.
Spencer points out that the abortion bombers were repudiated by mainstream Christian groups. "There's no Christian group that is at all mainstream that says that the abortion clinic bombings were justified or right according to Christianity," he notes. In contrast, says the author, there is a "widespread understanding" in Islam that it is part of the responsibility of Muslims to "wage war in order to subjugate non-Muslims."

Hope Rather Than Hate

If America does not come out and vote for conservative polititions in this upcomming election, our country will see a rollover mentality toward terrorism. Without hate, but rather, with hope watch this you tube video and be reminded of one of many reasons why to vote conservative.

The Rape of Europe

This article was sent to me via email. It provoked thought in me, so I need to provoke thought in others by posting it.

Subject: Recent article about Islamization of Europe

Recent Article - sent 9/10/2007.
Subject: Europe,
The Rape of Europe By Paul Belien

The German author Henryk M. Broder recently told the Dutch Newspaper "DeVolkskrant" that young Europeans who love Freedom, better emigrate. Europe as we know it will not exist twenty years from now. While sitting on a terrace in Berlin, Broder pointed to the other customers and the passers-by and said, "We are watching the world of yesterday." Europe is turning Muslim..

Broder is sixty years old he is not going to emigrate. "I am too old," he said. However, he urged young people to get out and "move to Australia or New Zealand. That is the only option they have if they want to avoid the plagues that will turn the old continent uninhabitable." Many Germans and Dutch, apparently, did not wait for Broder's advice. The number of emigrants leaving the Netherlands and Germany has already surpassed the number of immigrants moving in. One does not have to be prophetic to predict, like Henryk Broder, that Europe is becoming Islamic. Just consider the demographics.

The number of Muslims in Contemporary Europe is estimated to be 50> million.

It will double in twenty years. By 2025, one third of All European children will be born to Muslim families.

Mohammed is already the most popular name for newborn boys in Brussels, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and other major European cities.

Broder is convinced that the Europeans are not willing to oppose Islamization. "The dominant ethos," he told De Volkskrant, "was perfectly voiced by the stupid blonde woman author with whom I recently debated. She said, "That it is better to let yourself be raped than to risk serious injuries while resisting." Further, she said, It is better to avoid fighting than run the risk of death."

In a recent Op-Ed piece in the Brussels newspaper De Standaard the Dutch (gay and self-declared "humanist") author Oscar Van Den Boogaard refers to Broder's interview. Van den Boogaard says that to him coping with the islamization of Europe is like "a process of mourning." He is overwhelmed by a "feeling of sadness.""I am not a Warrior," he says, "but who is? I have never learned to fight for my freedom. I was only good at enjoying it." Consider that in all of Europe no one under the age of 65 has picked up arms in defense of their country. That task has been borne by the United States since Germany's surrender in 1945.

As Tom Bethell wrote in this month's American Spectator: "Just at the most basic level of demography, the secular-humanist option is not Working." But there is more to it than the fact that non-religious people tend not to have as many children as religious people, because many of them prefer to "enjoy" freedom rather than renounce it for the sake of children. Secularists, it seems to me, are also less keen on fighting.

Since they do not believe in an afterlife, this life is the only thing they have to lose. Hence they will rather accept submission than fight. Like the German feminist Broder referred to, they prefer to be raped than to resist. "If faith collapses, civilization goes with it," says Bethell. That is the real cause of the closing of civilization in Europe. Islamization is simply the consequence. The very word Islam means "submission" and the secularists have submitted already. Many Europeans have already become Muslims, though they do not realize it or do not want to admit it.

Some of the people I meet in the U.S. are particularly worried about the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe. They are correct when they fear that anti-semitism is also on the rise among non-immigrant Europeans. The latter hate people with a fighting spirit. Contemporary Anti-Semitism in Europe (at least when coming from native Europeans) is related to anti-Americanism. People who are not prepared to resist and are eager to submit and they hate those who do not want to submit and are prepared to fight. They hate them because they are afraid that the latter will, in their struggles against the coming oppression, endanger their lives as well. In their view, everyone must submit. This is why they have come to hate Israel and America so much, and the small band of European "Islamophobes" who dare to talk about what they see happening around them. West Europeans have to choose between submission (Islam) or death. I fear, like Broder, that they have chosen submission - just like in former days when they touted the slogan, "Better Red, rather than dead."

Europeans apparently never read John Stuart Mill who wrote: "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing is worth a war, is worse. A man who has nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance at being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

God's Peace

Gus' first Christmas. (2006) You can tell his mind goes so fast. When will mine slow down?

When someone wishes me God's peace it always strikes me.

I am very high strung-ADD-hyper-intense-and more. Even when I am calm my mind is going at warp speed. My brother in law once told me that he thinks all people have a little Bi-Polar dissorder in them. I don't have enough symptoms for a diagnosis, but my mind sure does go faster than it should for good health.

Is God's peace escaping me because I can't slow my mind down? Retorical of course, but not retorical too.

When I was young my body went as fast as my mind. Now by body stays about one hundred thoughts/steps behind.

I wonder if this Blog will take the place of the Harley I want so badly, and can't afford.

The Thirsting and Sonsofday were at our place

Click above post title to go to The Thirsting's Myspace
From left to right: Daniel, (The Thirsting) Joseph, Mary Kate, Matt, (The Thirsting) and Bogden.(Sonsofday)

These guys have a great message for people. I like more traditional music for mass, but this upbeat stuff tells a good story too. Daniel wears the brown scapular and is very old fashioned prayerful. Scotty from Sonsofday is pictured left. the pic was doctored up to look cool by Jessica.

Sonsofday and The Thirsting on stage together while they get ready.

Top: Josh, Tommy, Mat, and Chelsea From The Thirsting. Bottom: Vlad and Roman from Sonsofday.................................................................................................................................

TimmyBaugh stuck his neck out for our community and booked these two bands and only about 40 people showed up. One hundred people were needed to break even. Timmy wrote a check for $350.00 or so from his personal account. Hopefully next time the turnout will be better.

Back At It

The kids are schooling again. Some are in school and some are homeschooling with Shelly. The transition from summer to school has been hard for Jessica and AJ. Jessica has senioritis so bad it's just crazy. Hope She starts paying attention to the right things soon. She has a job at Leatherby's and seems to be doing well at it. AJ is looking at his self controll issues and doing fairly well at this point. Please pray for my kids and for me.

Elyse opted for homeschooling this year as did Joseph. Elyse has been quite the socialite these past few months and will benefit from the grounded structure of schooling right now. I think that the one on one for Joseph will be good. I think Shelly will hold him accountable more than some of his teachers have in the last two years.

Claire and Mary Kate are back in Redding School of the Arts. What a great school it has been for our family. The level of education has proven to be some of the best in our region. I remember when the older kids were around the ages of these two. What fun times we had wrestling around------them pinning me to the floor just before I got up with them hanging on me--------laughing and laughing. Time goes on. The precious times turn to more difficult ones. The love grows while the understanding diminishes. (Both the understanding of the child and the understanding of the parent.)

Augustine is eleven months old now. WOW! He is learning sooooooo much every moment. What a character.

I love all of my kids!

Our family went camping in the Trinity Alps on Tangle Blue Creek. On the Fourth of July, I shot two rattle snakes very close to our camp. This one was about three and a half feet long before I blew his tail off. He was alive in this picture, but he was in very bad shape. We heard one rattling after dark about fifteen feet from the campfire in the brush. Couldn't find him to shoot him.

We had a French exchange student with our family for a short summer program. His name is Dimitri, and he was a joy to have in our home. Here he is with my son Augustine. He took this cool picture of some of my kids. After the incodent with the rattle snales, we were at burney falls when Dimitri saw a water snake. He looked at me and querried, It has no F T T T T (rattling sound) - it's OK?

We also had an imprompt party for father Avram that lasted till about 3:00AM. (Thats crazy talk) He brought some very fine cigars with him and we huffed stogies all night. (Good times.......Good times)

Raising kids as head strong as myself. The apple does not fall far from the tree

Yesterday I tried to get my son to see the reality of anti christian associations. We were at the airport waiting for a foreign exchange student to arrive while another family was also waiting. When I was doing work for the other family a few months earlier large amounts of personal belongings were in the way of the work each day. When I was moving some papers to do some drywall work I saw a well done hand drawn picture of satan. Some might say something like you don't know what he meant it to be, but when something has the appearance of a ripped manlike creature with characteristics of a goat with horns and a tail with a point like an arrow...................... I think I'm safe in saying it was satan. My son was following this kid all over the place, so I got him away from the kid and told him that he should let some people come to him rather than him going to them. My reason for this is complicated. What you must know is I only have my son's salvation in mind. I was trying to make him think of the reality that when someone seeks another, the other person can be one of three things. A better person which will help us be better people, A person about even with our spirituality which almost always is good, or a person who is potentially bad for our spirituality.

I am not trying to get him to judge any one's soul, but we must make judgements wisely about those we want to associate with. Anyone who draws pictures like the one I saw in that young mans room will not be able to do or say anything to lead one closer to Christ.

Now the problem with this story is my son handled it poorly. He told the kid that I said I did not want him talking to the "goth " kids. His description of my words were much different than reality. He went on to say much more, none of which was even intended by my speech. Furthermore, it got to the kids mother who I may not have much respect for, but I in no way intend to hurt or offend. When I learned of this I asked him if he was doing this in an effort to get me to shut up about things, and stop trying to guide him in his growth. He said "It would be nice." I then told him "If you notice me not trying to guide your growth, you will know I stopped caring."

I know my son has no idea how much I contemplate his eternity. I know he does not know the feeling of love a father can have for his kids. Without this knowledge he will make decisions based on undeveloped principles. My problem is surviving these actions stemming from undeveloped principles.

This is a deeply personal matter, but I need to talk and the computer seems to be listening.

If anyone has any Christian words of wisdom please post them for me to read.

Thank you

Mexico 2007

I went with ninety seven other people to La Morita Mexico. You won't find it on any maps although about a million people live there. We built one house, repaired another making it safe while adding on two rooms, and we painted a convent.

While we were in Mexico we went to see a place on the border where they record names of those who died trying to cross the border. Most of them die in the desert.

Most Americans have no idea what it must be like when the possibility of dying in the desert is worth the chance. As for me, I don't know what it must be like, but I do know how much I cried thinking about it at the fence that day. I know we MUST SECURE OUR BORDER, but will our government ever make the green card system more user friendly? Don't let them stay illegally. Send them back. Don't give them any benefits or privileges for entering illegally. Rather make a system where they can enter the U.S. with relative ease. If they have ever been caught stealing, killing, smuggling, or a short litany of other offences we should tell them no when they apply. Otherwise lets let them in--------Who would our grandfathers have fought for during WWII if the U.S. had not let their parents in?

This house was built with block and never grouted. That's right, no bond beams, no space grout, nothing to make it safe. It was just block mortared together, and falling apart. The roof was old American garage doors and scrap plywood. It leaked like a six month size diaper on a three year old. It now has spaced grout every 32 inches and a solid concrete beam around the top. We then built a second floor on half of the house, and a simple roof with rolled roofing.
What a great group of kids we had with us on the trip. They were eager to be given something to do. Once given a task they performed to the best of their ability. That's what my Dad always asked of me, and I can't see it being any better.

I went down to La Morita about a month before the trip and saw the house which this one replaced. It was four old 16 foot wooden garage doors with a hole cut in one and a sheet for a front door. In this picture I am shaking the owner's hand just after giving/getting a long hug to/from his wife. I had to walk away right after this picture because I was too choked up to talk. My heart seems to bleed for these people who are trod on by their government and American businesses.

The group photo includes most of the people on the trip. My seventeen year old daughter Jessica, my sixteen year old son A.J., and my seventeen year old niece Sara are three of the people in our group. This group was a conduit which allowed God to bring mercy and social justice to some fine people in Mexico. My hope for the young people in our group is that the images of this place soften their hearts as adults, making them more conscious while making decisions with money and other resources.

What an awesome group of people. I just wish about five more people were at the site when this picture was taken.
